I sent my Hamilton chrono off to my friend Mahlon in the US just after Christmas. I was winding it one day and the balance wheel just rattled, so I sent it off to Mahlon (pronounced May-lon) who is an expert in US Hamilton movements. He's also of the Amish sect - who don't believe in using electricity - so he's very good on mechanical movements and incredibly cheap because the lifestyle is cheap. So, for anything to do with US Hamilton movements, he's the man.

It turned out that a jewel had cracked. He replaced the jewel and stripped down and cleaned the whole movement - "Very complicated" was his verdict! Anyway, it came back this morning and is running as sweet as a nut. I haven't photographed the cleaned movement yet, so here's an old pic of it, pre-service.

I've been looking at these on eBay for a while...

As soon as I find one that needs sorting, I'll try and pull the trigger!

Another is a buy it now watch @ $599
