Working on a friend's Bracket clock (Westminster chime) I noted it needed a rather extreme tilt to get in beat. Adjusted the crutch to reduce this & clock ran to time for a day or two but then stopped. On attempting restart it's clear the Anchor pallet has slipped/rotated laterly on its arbour. This one, unlike the other I've fixed, doesn't have a screw with which to secure it on the arbour. Are there any other fixes other than drilling & tapping this one?

Thanks for your interest, OH. Hope the attached helps you formulate some advice...

As I feared the complete pallets are pushed/ hammered onto a tapered rod. You will have to take the complete unit off before you mark where the should go. You need to close the hole by using a stake punch around the hole so it is a tight friction fit. You could also use some locktight, blue is strong but easy to move red is stronger and more permanent.

The movement is Gustav becker which is German.
