I am partial to many different kinds of watches, but try to steer clear of the ones I will never be able to afford.  For my sins have been drawn into tuning fork watches; these are mainly of the Bulova Spaceview variety because I am easily pleased and like looking at the innards of the 8 in my collection of various sorts - working and non-working.  The frequency of the hum is also very similar to the 400Hz equipment used onboard by the Royal Navy submarine service and for reasons I don't fully understand I find it 'soothing'.  Whilst in New York the other day I stumbled across the Horological Society of New York by chance on the way to Grand Central Station which turned into a visit highlight and I would recommend to anyone.  My other hobbies are golf and flip clocks, but just one type these days with which can get me into trouble.  For example, I flew to Milan in Italy earlier this month to meet a bloke at the airport where I bought and brought back the same day a refurbished Solari Udine Dator 10 in a massive box weighing in at 29Kg.  All of this was much to my wife's annoyance, but it was worth it.  And that is me; not as exciting as I have made myself sound because the last time I went abroad was over 8 years ago.  It's just been a much busier than normal month celebrating my wife's 60th Birthday in her ultimate bucket list destination and buying my forever clock that I had been seeking out for over 3 years.
