OldFatBikerBloke
Hello!! Complete beginner but keen!! I found an old pocket watch (a Dollar watch I've learned) on a second hand stall & paid the princely sum of 50p (0.63USD) for it. Of course it was a non-runner. Age & health issues mean my two wheeled days are now just a happy memory so I thought, it's an engine of sorts, I can fix this!! I couldn't... I managed to strip, clean and rebuild it but a knackered hairspring spoiled the party - I spent hours trying to sort it but it's beyond my current ability and tools. I was becoming disheartened (and running out of expletives) but wise words from Spectre6000 echoed my own thoughts so it's been put to bed for another day. I'm about to start on an Ingersoll Triumph as my second project. Smaller and quieter than the Triumphs of my youth but at least there's still wheels, gears, oil and grease!!
