Gruen Precision crown ?

HI all,

I'm working on a Gruen Precision Mariner  with a N510RSS movement.

I got it from a friend and it has the wrong crown and was very dirty.

I've serviced the movement and now need the correct crown.

I ordered what I thought was the correct crown from Perrin in Canada, but it has a plastic sleeve that does not work with the case I have. The sleeve will not come out without serious force and does not fit over the case tube.

Am I missing something here?  Photos below:
