ETA 2472 Cannon Pinion repair

Title says it all--is it possible to replair this part re: I could source a NOS but want to check first since I have two of them (both off the wheel) and it seems like there must be a way to use the staking set to do this?

The way to do the job is to turn the wheel upside down. And, before replying that this is silly and will not work, just try and will see that it works, and may be will understand how and why it works.

I’ve got three in this condition. I’ve already tried to repair the first using my staking set.  I’ll try it with one of the others before calling anything silly
