Fine work. I see what you were going for😀…. …sorry- early in the states. How dies the pull on the crown feel? This is not in my skill set yet- I always wonder if the new material will be too stiff… -
That looks like normal behavior to me. That movement only winds in one direction, not both, so when the rotor turns anti-clockwise it winds the main spring and so is fighting against the mainspring tension. As a result it will turn under its own weight but it won't free spin. When it turns clockwise though it has no resistance and so can spin freely. -
That's brilliant! What a great set of books they are! Thanks for that. Another quick question. I've noticed on the second picture of the movement on the data sheet there is some sort of spring held down with a screw towards the bottom left. However in the fourth pic the spring isn't there. My movement doesn't have that spring or screw. Are those pics fully assembled and just different types or is it missing? -
I have never heard of hide glue. Is it colourless. There are so many glues on the market these days it must be a job knowing what to go for. -
