How to dismantle and repair SEIKO 8F56-0020 watch key mechanismus

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am living in Brasil and I  bought the SEIKO Perpetual Calendar watch 8F56-0020 about 20 years ago outside Brasil

in Amsterdam Airpofrt,Netherlands.

The watch kept running very well but last few days after changing the battery the key mechanismus started to fail

to work properly. It does not arret at positions 1 and 2 as well and thus it makes the problem with electrical contacs

which depend on key positions. As in Brasil does not exist Seiko repair shop I do not now where the watch

could be repaired.  Maybe I have to send it to some Japanese repairing service ?

Please  can somebody help me with this problem.

Thank you

you should really go to the Seiko Japanese site Lookup servicing information and don't take you to the nearest service center. Unfortunately they know where I live and keep sending me to the US service center which isn't helpful

https://www.seikoserviceusa.com/

but either always reach out to them and asked them if they had service it. Unfortunately it's a complicated watch and nothing lasts forever so it would need to be serviced eventually. Note regarding complicated I found the service manual for it would not recommend anybody doing it it requires special tools but just in case you're curious as to what's inside your watch there is the service manual
