What is this tool?

Hello, I found this tool on my local classifieds ads website and I am wondering what is it used for.

Appears to be a balance truing caliper. Bench mounted. Very nice.

 It also appears to be missing the indicator bar

This was almost certainly made by a student watchmaker, most likely an apprentice at AP; the script hidden by the tool would be the student's name. It's a common project in the Vallee de Joux area for students- a friend of mine still uses the one he made there at the ecole technique. Pics below. The missing parts would be simple to make, or if the points are 2mm, Horia has them.

It really is somebody's name.

Ha, Cyrille Boukitine shows up not far from here in Switzerland as "horloger grandes complications" on LinkedIn, but spelled "Boukhitine"; maybe they misspelled his name on the tool and he said "heck with it I'm selling it!" and it ended up in Bosnia!

Oh, if this item only could speak, it would tell an interesting story of how it ended up here
