I just picked up one of these tools as mentioned in another thread.  Am I able to use it to remove hairsprings as well as installing them?

edit: I think I can also use the v grooves on this to remove the friction pinion in the third wheel of the as1900 movement I have.

This tool provides a good base for securely resting the balance while lifting the hairspring collet with levers or installing it with one of the provided punches.
