Hello.
Is it okay to change the direction of the regulator block in the etachron system?(eta 7750)
I'm asking if it's okay to do it the other way around as long as the gap between the curve pins is right.

I tested it, and even if I turn the regulator block upside down, the same value comes out.

Left is forward direction, right is opposite direction.

Is there a reason why I can't turn it the other way around?
Thank you.

interesting timing for your question somebody else recently asked the same question on a Seiko watch.

one of the things that we don't know is what is the actual shape of the regulator pins. For that I have a patent yes it appears to be Seiko has the patents for the pins and then I believe the Swiss have the patents for the stud.

It's conceivable if the pins had a shaping that was different in one direction versus the other there might be a problem like you get a sharp edge pushing on the hairspring might be easier to cause distortion if you were not careful.

But it really shouldn't matter at all and probably happens quite a bit because people don't have the instruction sheet have no idea which way they're supposed to turn it.

interesting timing machine you have don't often see that on this discussion group
