I sent you a message on FB marketplace regarding the Peerless machine above. Check your messages. -
I actually ordered a 489/916 stem at that works! Thanks for inspiration. Now the only challenge I have is that the alarm is not working unless I push down on the Lever (pointed with red arrow). There is resistance/elasticity in that lever hence its not sitting loose. Does anybody know these movements?

Thanks @LittleWatchShop - yes, I was thinking that getting the hole started with a small carbide drill would do the trick. Glad it worked for you and I’ll give it a go because I still think it would be fun to make this little tool. Cheers.

@Waggy - thanks - that is what I wanted to hear. The particular clone I’m looking it has specs listing 3mm spindles and 4mm stumps, and after spending time down a rabbit hole, I’m pretty sure that’s going to take the Bergeon 31001 set. Good to hear the combo works for you. I have 2 restoration projects on the go here which have loose cannon pinions, so I’ll get to play with it at least twice!

Some further details. Underneath the barrel bridge was the marque G.P.CIE where IE is underscored with a bar. There is also one less jewel than I thought. The dial side bearing for the center wheel is not jeweled and looks to have been at least one of the reasons for the watch not running. The center wheel staff is also badly scored and there’s signs of rust around the brass bearing (from the staff). Looks like I have my work cut out
