ETA 2898-2 Documentation?

A friend asked me whether I could service his Revue Thommen „Triple Date Moon Phase“. It was built in the ’90s and should a have a caliber ETA 2898-2. Can somebody in this friendly forum help me with a documentation of the dial side? I cann‘t find anything in the net (except these photos).

The "dial side" is a separate complication module not made by ETA but by Dubois Dépraz, which doesn't release any documentation or parts. You can find an article and video at https://www.thenakedwatchmaker.com/decon-dubois-depraz-full-calendar

I like to have an idea of what to find inside before I open a valuable watch.

in addition to sources like that for the chronograph module sometimes the companies that are using the module I've seen that they have servicing information. I was looking at something the other day going through a series of documents and I saw chronograph module just can't quite remember which one was in.

Then a course there is the problem of even with the documentation And pretty pictures getting spare parts Will probably be an issue

The watch arrived today. This beautyful timepiece has been serviced from time to time by a professional watchmaker who closed his business some years ago. 

The case needs a new gold plating. My plan is to remove the movement and the crystals and give the case to a professional goldsmith nearby. He said he can do the cleaning, polishing and plating.

I‘m going to service the movement and will report here soon.

The journey begins!

The timegrapher shows a decent amplitude, zero beat error and a significant time loss.

I found the seconds hand loose and - as a result - circular marks on the inside of the front crystal

 

The obvious reason for the loose seconds hand was a minutes hand not pressed deep enough onto its pinion preventing the seconds hand tube reaching its deep sitting pivot.

 

When inspecting the case the first question to my fellows here came up: How to deal with these tiny pushers. Must they be pressed out before replating the case? If yes, to which side? Thanks for any help!

I would like to report that removing the triple-date-moon-phase module from the ETA 2892-2 was more than easy without the necessity of any disassembling on the module. It is held by the dial feet screws of the ETA’s main plate and can just be lift off (The dial is tightened to the module by two other screws).

I forgot to mention that the date module seems not to be made by Dubois-Depraz. The quality standard is lower and the month can only be changed with the pusher by hand. There is no manufacturer logo stamped on the plate

To finalize this thread I like to report that I successfully serviced the movement. I used the old pushers in the newly gold plated case. The plating was done by a goldsmith after I had removed the crystals, the crown tube and the pushers. The crown and the front crystal are new. My friend is happy wearing a good looking watch again
