Rolex 3186 movement in GMT II

Recommended Posts

Hi,

has anyone here ever had to replace a broken Jumping Hour Click Spring on a Rolex GMT II ?

If so, do you know if a broken one of these would also reselt in the hour hand not functioning during the normal funtioning of the watch.

When pulling out the crown to the first position and turning, the hour hand moves freely, but does not jump, indicating a broken spring, however prior to purchasing and replacing this i wanted to see if anyone knew if this would also cause the hour hand not keep time, or if this is likely to be another issue with the watch.

* Picture below is a working example of the spring i refer to

Can‘t answer the question, but the broken spring issue on this calibre is well known. As many people had watches with that damage Rolex modified the design of the spring and the wheel to solve the problem. Left old version, right new version.

Be sure to get the new version. Afaik there were no further complaints with this.
