Omega Seamaster Quartz cal 1345

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've recently been given this Omega quartz which I anticipated using as a daily wearer.

Having done some research and found instructions for setting the time (which was great from intuitive!).  Unfortunately when i attempt this the minute hand does not move.  To me it looks like the inner button on the crown is stuck in (slightly depressed).  In addition to this, the second hand appears to land between markers.

The obvious question is are these issues easily remedied or does it need professional intervention?

Obviously the watch doesn't hold much value so if like to try and keeps costs down of at all possible.

Many thanks for any help you can offer.20220228_093017.thumb.jpg.8bcd0384d8274dee105f4487d4b67f6e.jpg

The crown tends to always look like that. It's recess so you can push on it. If the secondhand isn't where it's supposed to be the only way to fix that is to take the movement out. Remove the secondhand and put it back where it's supposed to be which sometimes can be a challenge on quartz watches.

Does the minute hand moving the watch is running?

Then setting the time may look relatively simple in the manual but sometimes it can be a challenge. Here's a video where he shows how to do it and sometimes have to try to couple of times actually get it to do its thing. Also is a setting spring inside they can sometimes break if that happened still have to replace that parts. That unfortunately means you have to disassemble and try to repair it yourself unless you want to spend the money and It will be expensive to get fixed because it's a vintage quartz watch and of course is an omega quartz watch which means it's automatically going to be expensive
