Hi all,

New member here apologies if I posted to the wrong section.

Just got this watch from a forum and I've been told is a seagull, it wasn't moving as soon as I opened the package. The date still flick over during time setting, but when during time setting it feels like a little slippage every 45min rotation. Can somebody pls advice where to fix or repair this watch in the UK or Europe?

Thanks

In my mind there could be a (hour or plastic, sometimes metal, transfer wheel if present) wheel which is either broken (teeth "missing") or not seating properly (maybe due to shipping) or it could be as simple as a pressure washer (between the dial and the wheel) that is not working well (flat/broken/out of place...also due to shipping/handling/defect). Also check for center pinion integrity and proper sitting. It may have to be tightened if too loose. Just a thought!

Cheers,

PS. Welcome to the forum!

Just one comment - Seagull is a Chinese movement, whereas Lange & Sohne (your watch) is definitely Swiss. As for watch repairers, our very own Mark is an excellent craftsman.

PM him for info.

Maybe Swiss although made in Germany...which might also use some clone Chinese reworked inside, by any chance? Just a thought! (Not contradicting Will, but speculating on new trends and this new watch...I don't know enough about how that brand is doing nowadays...or even before!  :)  ) It just reminds me of a DG3814 reworked.

As I said, only a thought and a question all in one!

PS. I found this: "Cal. L 901.0 gilt lever movement, 53 jewels, some carried in screwed gold chatons . silver dial, eccentric hour dial with applied Roman numerals and lozenges indexes, subsidiary seconds, fan-form sector for power reserve, oversized aperture for date . sapphire crystal display back secured by six screws . case, dial and movement signed diameter 38 mm"

I think they are German not Swiss, but they definitely use their own (very nice) in house movements, not Chinese.
