longines bracelet question

Recommended Posts

The bracelet, on the Longines vhp I recently bought, strikes me as a poor design. While it is a beautiful bracelet, it relies on friction at four recessed locations, shown in 2nd photo, and no other locking features. I imagine,  at some point, the four friction points wear and won't lock securely. Is the repair to use pliers, to squeeze the frame, when it doesn't lock securely?

Thanks,

This style of clasp is called a butterfly.

You may be worrying unnecessarily as stainless steel is a hard and resiliant metal so this should see many years of service! It is possible to get different clasp styles however if you feel you want more security e.g. side push button to release.
