Hi Mark

Just watched your excellent how to video on the AS movement, I had to repair the winding mechanism following a drop. When replacing the parts I have lost the calendar jumper spring! Would / could you please advise me as to where I can get a spring for the calender jumper.

Cheers

If you located in the US, there are three good watch material houses. Borel, Casker, and Ofrei which should have one in stock. Another option is to buy a parts movement off ebay to harvest the part.

It is a 1691/93 I am in the UK Kent. There are other problems with the movement so ideally I am looking for a replacement. The left handed screw has broken :-(.

AS1691 has quite a lot of parts available. You can order from Cousins or PM GleaveandcoLuke (a member here, http://www.gleaveandco.com/) and he will help you.

If the crown wheel screw is broken then you can replace the barrel bridge - these are cheap, about £10, you can get an assorted pack of left thread screws no problem, and the calendar jumper springs are about a few quid but you may need to buy a pack of five.

I've spent many a happy hour on my hands and knees searching for a missing screw/ click spring or other small part.

I have a nice big magnet for that, or try a long magnetic knife rack. Just demagnetise the part after you find it.
