Chinese Quartz Movement Crown Removal

Can anyone point me in the right direction to remove the crown please? cannot seem to find any buttons in there.... my plan is to replace the movement with a better one and relume the hands and dial so I have a nice bedside friend...

I think if you press down on the end of the lever nearest the screw on the right hand side as you look at your photo while gently pulling the stem it should release.
