Hello Mates!   And a happy before Xmas !!

Got in a Certina Certronic 29-151 movement, that had not been operative for many many years.

I will try to replace the battery first, after checking for everything look OK.

But must this have a reset after battery change?  Or something that I must do before replacing the battery?

HO... HO...     Xmas regards

Happy X-mas and all that good stuff!

I looked up your movement and its the same as Omega 1250 aka ESA 9162.

This detail here tells me  the movement needs a service. These are difficult to work on because of the index wheel which requires a microscope to align with the pawl jewels. I tried overhauling mine once and it REALLY require a microscope and specific knowledge otherwise you'll mess it up....:turkey:

OK, so having said that, if you try a new battery, put the watch up to your ear, and if you hear a high frequency humming, then the coils are good. Take the battery out and start looking for a tuning fork repairer. You'll still need a goo cleaning and lubrication, but at least you won't have to buy new coils.
