I need a crown wheel screw for a Bulova 11ACC movement.  The Bulova part number is #40.  I consulted a Bulova cross reference catalog and the 11AC, 11ACAC & 10CBAC movements use the same, #40 crown wheel screw.

Online, I have found a Bulova part #40 screw which fits the 5AH movement.  My question is, would the Bulova #40 part number be the same part for all these movements?  Common sense tells me that a #40 is a #40, but I am questioning why the 5AH wasn't listed in the cross reference as using the same screw as my 11ACC.  The catalog I used was from 1959 and I suppose the 5AH may have been produced after that date.

Any insights?

Thank you!

Roger

Here's my take on it Roger, and I may be completely wrong.

I think the identification numbers for parts will be universally used across the range of movements, ie #40 will always refer to a crown wheel screw regardless of calibre. The calibre code that prefixes the #40 will be the important number, as the crown wheel screws for different calibres will more than likely be different sizes.
