how to remove Howard Miller world time mechanism

Hi folks,

I'm wondering how I would remove & re-install this clock mechanism.  It seems that I must remove the set-crown shown in the phono, but it doesn't appear to be threaded.  Do I need a puller?  If so, what's the tool to re-install?  (I googled "clock gear press" but did not find anything).

The clock mechanism does not turn, but the ballast (which powers both the clock & the flourescent light) successfully powers the light.  I'm guessing the motor is dead.
