That could be another sign it's up for some TLC. Perhaps too much, too little, or the wrong type of grease was applied to the barrel walls. Perhaps it occasionally slips too much, which could explain the funny initial timing machine readings. Thanks for the input! -
Thank you Dell! Very useful information for me! I saw your videos and they are great! You do an amazing job! And I saw one where you are using the lathe very slowly and it seems to work perfectly. I will take your advice and go for 3/4 hp motor. The one I saw comes with a nob to select the speed and it has the forward/reverse option with I like. thank you very much again for all your help! -
There might be something wrong with the mainspring. I don‘t hear any slipping when I fully wind my 3135. -

My neighbor just sent this in a text. I have replaced this crystal three times already!!! I had to replace the bezel once too. -
Thank you @JohnR725 and @Nucejoe for the reference links, I'll make sure to check the ebauche symbols next time before asking. @praezis I get your point about swapping parts. I haven't done a balance staff replacement and really should learn if I want to get better at this.
