Hello everyone I have this Hamilton in for servicing and I was wondering what kind of tool to use to remove the second wheel that is on top of the bridge? Also once off what is the best way or tool to reinstall it?

Thanks

There’s a Bergeon “Presto” lifter which is designed for lifting these wheels. Note that there are two versions depending on how many spokes the wheel has.

Alternative is to use hand lifting levers, but I think the Presto lifter is superior as it guarantees parallel lift.

Press on gently with a flat punch, or you could use the end of a Biro pen with ink cartridge removed.

Thanks so this wheel has five spokes now I'm looking at the tool you suggested and am guessing the jaws on this tool have to go between the spokes correct? I can't see how it would be big enough to go on the outside of the gear

Yes the side with the two prongs on it will go either side of the spoke

Thanks everyone I was going to turn down this job because I saw instructions on this movement and it was saying to use a pry bar to remove it and I didn't feel comfortable using that

If you can, orientate the wheel so that the two nylon pushers have somewhere steady to rest against.
