The attached is a plan of a missing sub hand. I have found it impossible to get an exact copy. Any ideas of where I could get something very close? If not, looking on ebay there are some mismatches which I should be able to file down if it were not so small. What type of vice is used to hold such a small item?

The hands available on Ebay were not really good enough as the larger hands were close but the 0.20 were thin in the front and fatter in the back. Any other sources?

In practice do I need be concerned about the  Max. 0.02 μN.m limit?

Have you search on the watch? Looks like it is a Citizen? As it is a Miyota OS10 . Have you looked On boley.de and jules borel?

If it's a OS10 the sub hand is 0,17 mm not 0,20.

Thank you for your answer. I am now confused. When I originally measured the spindle it was 0.26/ 0.45. I then read a spec somewhere that said it was 0.20. Following your comment I did a search:

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f6/subdial-second-hand-sizes-citizen-miyota-0s10-subdial-2462673.html

This indicates .25 or .26. Unless you confirm that it is 0.17 I will therefore look for .25.

Boley.de would not deal with me as I am not a professional.

Jules Borel might but I can not tell from their site if they have the correct hand.  I think the reason is that I have to register with them before I can see everything otherwise I do not know why I am not seeing detail. I have no idea of their minimum order.

The sub dial hands are .26 and the centre seconds hand is .17. See here from Miyota's database http://miyotamovement.com/pdf/draw_0S10.pdf

Not sure where you are based but I have bought hands from both Esslinger http://www.esslinger.com/watch-hands/ and Cousins https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/subsidiary-dial-by-size

Basic replacements tend to come in limited shapes. With more information on the actual watch it may be possible to find the correct original hands, e.g http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Watch-Hands-Set-For-CASIO-0S10-0S20-0S30-0S60-0S70-0S80-Chronograph-Movement-H17-/181407709192

Cousins may also be able have what you need.

Note that when searching, the calibre number starts with a zero, not a letter O.

That is probably right? Only saw the numbers and assumed that the smallest pivot was the subhands?

I thought if you could use this ? With the number on the back of the watch? http://cgi.julesborel.com/
