Spring Bar For Clasp

I need to replace the spring bar for this lady's TAG. I ordered what I hoped to be the correct item but, alas, the ends of the spring bar poke through the buckle hole. The diameter is fine as it measures 1.2 millimters.

 

Any advise?

There are many types of spring bar - you need "Flanged" type for these clasps.
