Hello, is it possible to take the wobble out of a balance wheel? I am working on a wyler as 1002 cal. And during the restaffing procedure trying to be very careful I managed to bend the balance wheel ever so slightly. I have a truing caliper and have been trying to get it out for over an hour. I have it down to a slightly better wobble than before. Can a watch operate with a mm of wobble? Am I using the right stump? Is there a video on this process?

Are you sure its the balance wheel that's bent and not that you have seated the staff incorrectly which will cause a wobble. Mark has a video of how to replace a broken balance staff.

Thanks for the reply oldhippy, after looking at it under 10x magnification I think that may be the issue not seated correctly. But to answer my second question, will I get a beat error with a slight wobble? My wheely is wobbling. Lol

I guess I answered my own question. I have been fiddlin with this truing caliper all day and finally figured it out. I managed to get the wobble out and it spends straight now. I went back and checked my other watches balance and They were straight, sigh

Well done if you have sorted it out the proof will be when its up and running and keeping good time. What you have achieved is a job for someone who would be taking an advanced course in watchmaking. :woohoo-jumping-smiley-emoticon:
