Incabloc Screw Frustration

Recommended Posts

After a long tiring day gardening, pruning a tree in the front and getting rid of a troublesome mildly decorative tree in the back yesterday I thought I would relax and have a bit watch play.

I started off cleaning round and reinserting the click spring for my bumper 28.10 (which is in bits at present) without too much bother - tiny bit of D5 etc. Then I went on to putting the incabloc back in and my troubles started. My hand previously occupied by secateurs most of yesterday started developing the shakes (no drink involved for a change or perhaps that was the problem) and could I hell get the bugger of a tiny screw to locate back in the orifice and when I did I kept knocking it back out with the driver then disaster - it was there one second and the next it was gone, don't know how and dont know why.

I searched over the desk top which is mainly covered by a cheap white canvas to make such things visible to no avail over the fleece i was wearing with a magnet (keeping it away from the pacemaker).  As I was leaning forward over the desk at the time and because of my rather bulky physique, logic dictated it could not have got past me but no trace.  So then down onto the floor I went, nowt as pathetic as an OAP scratting around on the floor with reading glasses, magnifying headset and every other visual aid under the sun but truth is I could hardly see the screw without magnification.

Unfortunately my right thigh started getting and then got cramp so I decided to writhe around for a while feeling sorry for myself whilst it was wearing off and then I thought bugger it I am going for a whisky - put both hands on the floor to lever my aching body up and there 3 inches in front of my eyes was a tiny black spec - the little b decided to re-appear.

I picked it up with a wadge of rodico and put the whole lot back under the cover for tomorrow by which time I hope my aged muscles have settled down.  So I am having a drink an checking out the forum in relative comfort.  At least I always have interesting stuff from you guys to read as well as my Warhammer books of course.

Word of the day - Decrepit

So much trouble! That's why I wear rubber sandals...no need to go on acrobatics on the floor...I just step on the bits and pick them up from the soles! Too bad if the little buggers decide to break!  :)

This is my OTHER pair. A quick change from Sandal-picker-upper to...

tada!
