Hi All,

I hope everyone is well. Spring in this part of Pennsylvania is starting to arrive in a big and beautiful way! I don't want to bring the wrath of the admins down, but to my European, Canadian, Mexican, and pretty much everyone else in the world who was our friend, I can only say I didn't vote for him, and I'm sorry how things have turned out.

Right. Watches and shock systems. Focus Thomas! As stated in the title I really did search the forums for an answer with no luck.

I'm working on a Bulova 5AT movement, and every darn jewel seems to have a shock spring. I've attached two picts of the one on the escape wheel jewel; one in x-ray vision, and one normal. Would anyone know,

  • what type it is - never seen the like before, and I've overhauled well over 50 Bulova ladies movements;
  • how does it come out so I can clean the jewel, I can't seem to make it move (I am afraid to put too much force on it until I have a better understanding of how it works.)

Thank you for any help.

Take care, be cool, and have a good time in your prime. 🙂
