IMG_3944.thumb.jpeg.105ee07292c75f625add38d8a27bba4b.jpegI have  a NH35 as a project and replaced the balance assembly. It ran and was within +10 sec with a beat error of 0.5 but with low amplitude.

I decided to completely disassemble, clean, relube and ideally get the amplitude up in the mid 200s.

After cleaning and reassembly the watch reads ++++ and continues to display best error then run a bit the best error.
I can’t adjust anything because it won’t lock on to a steady beat.

Without the pallet fork and balance the gear train is free. Again it was running prior to my cleaning and reassembly advice . Where do I begin to troubleshoot?

I can’t really see if the impact jewel is aligned but if it ran before I assume its position is ok.

That hairspring is at least bent and possibly tangled. The stud is sitting over the next coil when it should be a terminal curve on the outside. At the lower left part of the photo, the coils are bunched up to the degree that they almost look like one crosses over another.

It is possible the hairspring is sticking together with oil or magnetism. Start by demagnetizing it and putting it into a strong solvent (not IPA) to see if it becomes round and concentric again. If not, your next step is to start learning to fix the hairspring or order a new balance complete.

This is a picture from AliExpress and may not be a genuine balance, but does illustrate what the hairspring should look like

Thanks, I agree. I have tried both demagnetizing and a quick rinse in Naptha. The picture is after. I tried to massage the coils but like you noted I think there is a tangle and possibly a bend.
I had another spare assembly so I put it in and the movement has good amplitude and can be regulated. What I don’t know is how to set the regulator pins. I set them to about were they came from the factory. I have a 7x loop and it’s hard  to see enough and turn the stud at the same time. I do not have the Etachron tool.
