I have some of these but I don't really like them or ever use them. The arbors don't work well for me with any modern alloy mainsprings. I know the hook/pin can be filed down to fit better with modern springs.

I think Spencer Klein uses the K&D version which is basically the same, in some of his Seiko repair videos. I bought mine when I was very new to this, expecting I would use it to be able to wind right or left springs, and assuming I would work on a lot of Japanese movements with left wound springs. That turned out not to be what I work on much, and it's hard to use without damage to the spring. Does work nicely on old blue steel spiral mainsprings, as infrequently as I end up using those in wristwatches.
