Cleaning Crystals

Hi Everyone!

I'm excited that I just replaced my first crystal. It was an older Movado watch that a friend had pretty much shattered the crystal on but I managed to clean it up and pop a new one in. I broke the first one I tried but got the second one in after applying the right amount of pressure.

My question though is how to properly clean the crystal before installing it. I looked around the interwebs but nobody seems to have posted a video or clear, pun intended, instructions on how to properly clean a crystal so that it's spotless.

For example, what types of cleaning solution, cloths, techniques, handling, etc. Really anything a newbie like me would need to know. I know it isn't like cleaning your front window so there's got to be a method to the madness.

I use a drop of isopropyl alcohol or lighter fluid and a microfibre cloth.
