Hello,

I’ve loved watches since I was young. As someone from the upper class in North Africa and the Middle East, I’ve noticed a gap in the market: luxury brands like Rolex are highly desired but unattainable for most people here. This inspired my idea for an affordable, locally inspired luxury watch brand that combines status, craftsmanship, and cultural relevance.

For anyone looking to enter the industry:

- Why aren’t more watchmakers from these regions starting their own brands?

- What’s stopping them from filling this gap and creating competition?

Is it resources, fear, or something else? The opportunity is clear—what’s missing?

Thank you in advance for sharing your opinions and expertise.

Money, Money and money.  To build my own brand, I have three options, hand made everything and charge the appropriate price, buy ebouches, cases etc and charge the appropriate price or buy the machines to make my own movements, then charge the appropriate fee to pay back my investment.  Set up costs is expensive whatever you choose.
