Having a look over my parts and i have a eta 2824 bridge with a cracked jewel.  Is this something that is repaired, or do you replace the bridge.

Anyone replaced jewels in a modern watch?  are modern watches friction fit?

Just got me thinking what steps i would take to replace if needed?

Thanks

Do you usually look at your parts when repairing watches?

Sorry Jonathan, I couldn't resist :D!

Cheers,

Bob

PS. Check out ebay for a jeweled pivot gauge and also a good micrometer. With those, you can measure both internal and external diameter of the jewel and order them from a supplier like ofrei or (maybe) cousinsUK. You'll also need a jeweling tool or similar. And yes, most likely pressure fit.
