Hello,

This is my first posting on any forum of any kind so please be gentle with any obvious questions I may put forward.

I am new to watch repairing and have only stripped down a dozen or so watches. I am having difficulty removing the movement from this old Swiss Sentinel watch so that I may clean and oil the watch. The crown came out easily but I cannot see any obvious screws that hold the movement in place. I have tried gently plying at the movement with tweezers and screwdrivers to get some movement, but without success. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick responses. Regarding the watch being front loading the case seems to be a solid piece with no removal of the bezel being available. I have taken a better side on image to illustrate this.

@AndyGSiI have tried lifting under the slot by the crown using a screwdriver, I too thought this to be a solution but getting absolutely no movement.

Hard to be sure from the photos but it looks to me like there are places for case clamps to go, but no case clamps. (Don't know if that adds much to the conversation.)

I also thought it looked like a removable ring around the movement. One of my Bulovas has a similar-looking ring that can seem pretty secure but then with a bit of wiggling it suddenly lets go.

Thank you for all the responses. I turns out that when I applied a little more force than usual to the opening next to the crown, the whole movement and dial popped out. It was just wedged in there a little harder than expected. I nice result and experience from my first post 🙂
