Pocket watch winding stem sleeve

Hi Everyone, I am looking for a winding stem sleeve as mine is broken and the crown keeps popping up into the hand setting position. Dimensions are 4.9mm diameter and 8.3mm long, I think sometimes described as being for a 16S watch. Thanks in advance, Steve.

Thanks. They don't seem to have those dimensions and shipping to UK is prohibitive.

Cousins don't seem to sell them, try Gleaves and Co , the website is rubbish but apparently they are really helpful if you ring them.  I don't know if they are freely available over here as they seem to be an American thing.

Thanks so much Marc, nearly but not quite as is often the case in watch repair. I did measure again with both a Vernier and a micrometer and both measured 4.9mm.

@Marc, where did you get the sleeve from, I've looked and couldn't find them in the UK.

@steve1811uk close but no cigar I don't smoke anyway. I checked in my stock of parts and that's the closest I got to your dimensions. Good luck in your search.

@RichardHarris123 I have an accumulation of all sorts of odds and ends that I acquired as a result of buying up the tail ends of old watchmakers estates. Usually after all of the great stuff has been stripped out, which means that the sweepings off of the workshop floor can be had for peanuts, but if you have the patience, can often be found to contain gold (both literally and figuratively ). These came to me through on of those purchases. I doubt that I will personally be able to make use of even 10% of my accumulated stock, but having it, and knowing what I have, means that I can at least pass bits on to those who can use it whenever possible.
