SETH THOMAS No 102

Recommended Posts

Hello from my new home in Memphis,

Working on a mantel clock. Looking for information on the escapement for the subject clock.  When I took the the back off and the bob was laying in the bottom of the case and the rod and was loose. Not sure how the assemble goes together and whether or not the end of the leaf spring is broken off. A good photo of a proper assembly would help.

Interesting movement has a shaft accesabe from the dial. It runs a worm drive which I assume adjust the beat of the escapment.

Thanks for your replies, Dave

I believe that it should have a strip of spring steel from the support above/behind the escape wheel, down through the fixed slot just below the escapement, then a bit lower a cross pin through the end of the spring strip that the pendulum support hooks on to?

There are several places on ebay listing similar supports to the separate photo, for Seth Thomas clocks, but that does not look to have a long enough support spring?

The bob should just hook on the end of the rod, as it is in the clock photo.
