Good evening all!  New to the forum but have been interested in horology my whole life.  I own multiple mechanical watches and want to start getting involved in repairs as a hobby.  I have read George Daniels book and I have what may be a very stupid question.  I have attached several pictures of adjustable balance wheel weights and was wondering if someone could inform me how the weights do not shift during a shock.  Is it is just friction between the weight and the wheel?  If there any system/layout you are aware of that may be more robust against shocks than others.  Once again I apologize if the answer is obvious but thank you for your time.
