Hi there @timrod you are brave starting with a family heirloom as one of your first watches. I would advise you to practice on some others, that don't hold any sentimental value to you, until you get enough confidence and experience under your belt before risking something that means something to you. Either way there are loads of people here very eager to help and guide.

Welcome, pictures will help for size, model, grade etc., an Elgin is easy to find donors/parts for usually.....
