Limits Of Freehand Turning?

I have a Lorch watchmakers lathe with no carriage, and I wonder what is considered the limit of freehand work?
I've been trying to see if I could get down to balance wheel pinion-size for a scrap movement I have. That would mean Ø0,06mm.
But freehand I haven't been able to get thinner than Ø0,14mm.

I guess carriages for the Lorch aren't abundant, and I'm not sure if they fit all models?
What would a carriage cost?

You should be able to make a smaller pivot with a hand held graver. It just takes more practice. How do you hold the graver on the tool rest? If you hold it in the cross slide position it is harder to make a small pivot. At a certain point the pivot will try to climb up on the cutting edge of the graver and break the pivot. Holding the graver with the diamond shape up will avoid this from happening. If nothing else you can stone the pivot to size once you reach .14mm.
