I'm trying to find documentation on an older watch that was my wife's Grandma's.  All I know is from what are in the pictures.  I did not see any markings indicating the movement number (possibly I just need to know where to look).

Okay, it was hard to see, but I believe it says 1240.  There also was something stamped near the edge of the case on the balance bridge.  I can't really make out what that says... possibly POF?

Is 1240 a valid movement as I don't see anything like that out there?

Sellita may have made this AS caliber, watchmakers could simply buy movements from makers of the movement such as AS etc.

Sellita used to assemble movements for movement makers.

Thank you!!  So who makes the AS movements?   I wonder how I could date the manufacture of it.

I'd like to clean and lubricate it, but being that it was my wife's Gram's, I want to get may game up a bit.  Also, it is incredibly small (that says 19.8mm, but I think the movement is smaller) that I think I want a binocular microscope before I work on this.

I have a feeling they did not have tech sheets back in the 1940's or 1950's (I thought this was a 1960's watch so maybe??)
