Seiko kinetic 5m42 movement not holding charge, replaced capacitor all went well. Replace back of watch and looked as if it was working well second hand moving 1 second steps. Pressed button on side of watch second hand moved to show charge approx 30 rapid steps then stopped, now second hand just tries to move and if you press button again it just vibrates. Any help. How does this charge indicator work?

Is what you have thought you could have a stuck button?......first, unstuck the button(s) and clean them...on another forum I saw someone with the same problem and These movements are much like mechanical ones in that they should be serviced regularly.

another problem may happen : You may need to be replaced the capacitor and a full movement tune-up if you Watch is used..if your Watch is new, and Under guarantee, bing the Watch to the store where you bought it..that's what I know about this watch

This could be that some metal or dirt has attached to the rotor (sometimes called stepping motor. This is a magnet) and this would cause the symptom you describe. Unfortunately this means removing the wheel to remedy.
