Need Seiko case back O-ring seal

Recommended Posts

I’m looking for a Seiko case back seal and can’t seem to figure out the right size.
I measured the o-ring groove in the case @ 29.7mm x 0.7 mm

heres a photo of the case back showing the numbers.

Any idea where I can get this seal?
Thanks, Bill.

Hi there BillM ,I see you in California have you tried https://seikosis.com/ I have bought many Seiko parts from them . They are in California , or you could try your local watch material house who should have an assortment of caseback seals where you should find one that will fit.

Hope that helps

Thank you, I will try the link you posted.
I have purchased an assortment of watch case back seals and none of them fit.
I can’t find a part number that cross references the number on my case back, and no one gives actual sizes, so I don’t know what to order.

Hey fellow bay area watch noob.
I ran into the same issue. Do you have calipers? i'd probably buy some as a generic identical gasket costs literally about 1/30th the cost of an OEM one and it's the same damn thing.

If you don't have calipers i would go get some cuz you'll need them for random things, if you do you just gotta measure the size of the gasket and figure out the esoteric weird way they post sizes for these things at places like esslinger and jules boral and other watch material houses.

I basically asked this same question and the kind people here gave some good info for this sort of thing in this thread

    • Hi John, The most important parameter of the spring is the thickness. The lenght is something that one would not consider as obligatory, as relatively big variations will not affect anything in significant way. The barrel size is related to the barrel and has nothing to do with the spring. Yes, the spring is designed to work in a barrel and the size of the barrel matters, but let this parameter be chosen by the movement manyfacturer, not by the sping manyfacturer who doesn't have idea in what kind of movement the spring will work. Sometimes the washer in which the spring arrives will be bigger than the barrel and there will be no way to just push the spring in the barrel and be happy. Well, if this is a problem for somebody, then probably He is a person with to many problems that will be verry hard to help to in any way. By the way, why You are changing the spring? Is the old one broken?

    • As a beginner, I’ve found this forum invaluable. I doubt I would’ve persevered without its support. I’ve had the confidence to attempt things that seemed to me impossible only because I knew there were patient and giving folks gathered around this watering hole, available to share their skill.    I would very much like to know where to go if this one dries up and everyone needs to decamp.  There’s something special about the folks gathered in this group.  How to keep in touch?
