Servicing Tissot Rocks

Recommended Posts

Just on the off chance, is anyone aware of a way to remove the glass on Tissot Rock watches in order to remove the hands and carry out a service/module exchange? I'm aware Tissot have their own way, though I have no notion of what that might be.

If anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, these watches are designed from a piece of stone that means the case is also, effectively the dial, meaning you cannot access the dial and remove the movement, reset the hands, etc, without somehow removing the flat, mineral glass from the front of the watch. They're cemented in, not on a gasket, so here I believe may lie the key, somehow weakening that glass cement?

I have yet to try but I didn't think the air pump method would work, am I mistaken?

Hi Ishima,

I would like to see the watch/movement you are describing. I'm not completely familiar with Tissot and I know they have been very innovative too. Maybe I can help if I see it...(?)

Cheers,

Bob

I can always get some photos this weekend, but here are some pictures I've found on google that might help.

Should be mentioned the first image doesn't show the battery clamp and maybe a slightly older caliber than the once I'm actually dealing with, I can get the movement's serial as well if that helps.

Same problem here. Managed to replace the coil & circuit some time back & watch works fine.. at the moment. When the movement eventually seizes up I think I will have to resort to violence and break the glass & probably the rest of the watch with it. Swatch jelly watches are the same - unserviceable.
