Review of the OttoFrei Bracelet Sizing Link Pin Tool

I needed to size the bracelet on my Omeaga Planet Ocean Co-Ax.  This Omega bracelet has the link pin tubes which makes it very difficult to remove the pins.  I have a screw-type removal tool (the blue one in the picture) but the pushing pin is too short to drive the pin out far enough and pulling on it with a pliers in an attempt to remove is awkward and a good way to botch up the pin.  I searched Otto Frei and saw that they have an offering that does the job for a very reasonable cost.  Since I own several Omegas with the link pin tube type bracelets and many other watches with wide bracelets this is a great tool to have in my arsenal.  Since I am only a hobbyist I really do not want to invest in a very fancy tool so this one suits my needs fine.

The tool is plastic and comes with a 4mm pin and 2 extras that store very nicely in a compartment on the underside of the tool.  I also ordered the 12mm longer pusher which is the one I needed for this Omega  It also comes with 2 different height plates to align the bracelet with the pin, but I was just careful to align it and didn't need them.  I used the 4mm pin to drive it out a bit and then used the 12mm pin which pushes it far enough to be able to pull it out easily

I highly recommend this small and inexpensive tool for the hobbyist, collector.  It saves alot of aggravation when sizing wider bracelets with push link pins.  I've seen some very sketchy methods when watching various videos on how to size the Omega tube-link style bracelets with hammers, pliers, etc - for me, those are not good methods when working on a fine watch.

The pictures show the tool with the 12mm pin installed, and two of the 4mm pins and the convenient storage compartment on the bottom.  When removing the pusher pins they are quite tight - take a pliers and get a good grip and twist back and forth while pulling out.  Note:  I am not affiliated with Otto Frei in any way.

These China made tools are the same that one can find for less on AliExpress or in repair "started kits".
