I bought a complete Wittnauer Revue 79 off eBay pretty cheap...after the purchase I noticed that I could not see any hairspring in the pictures.  I received it yesterday and sure enough there is no hairspring...but I also think the balance jewel is gone.  Its not a bad looking watch, the crystal is nice, has a decent band, hands are there...a little dirty but its easy to clean.  Most of the Revue 79 parts movements for sale have bad balance staffs and with my jewel missing that could be a sketchy way to fix it.  There is a complete balance/staff/hairspring for sale at about $40...is it worth it?

Running price for used GT79 movement ranges about the same amount , you can also check for price range of the watch online. Picclick.it usualy provides some table on price ranges.

So, before making a decision,  a tear down to inspect all parts is a good idea and buying a balance complete is not the only option.
