How to open an

Hello formum members,

I am reparing  a Bakobe vintage watch. It has a BFG 34 movement. 

Does anybody kwow how to open the mainspringbarrel?

Hi    with the barrel in the position as per photo tap on the bench the lid should pop off if not turn it over hold in the hand and tap with a brass hammer lightly, if all else fails there is a notch in the barrel cover, insert a small screwdriver and twist be carefull not to mark the barrel.

Thank you very much, I was myself not sure. Comes the lid of whit the pinion?

Hi   done carefully the lid will come off leaving the barrel arbour in the barrel held by the spring center coils.
