The story of George Daniels and his apprentice Roger Smith is now out on DVD, and for a short time is being sold as a Collector's Edition.

I'm a huge admirer of George and Roger and as soon as I heard this documentary was created I've been in contact with the co-producer Zoe several times hounding her for a date of release on DVD.

Well, she emailed me last night and I'm sure she's relived to tell me it's now on sale, and for a short time in a limited edition collectors set.

I know my friends here at WRT would also be interested in this too, so here's the link boys :)

I received my copy in time for Christmas. It's exceedingly well done although I think the title should have been "The Watchmaker and his Apprentice" as I felt the bias was not heavily enough in favour of Roger Smith. That said, it's a must have for any horologist.

I watched mine some time ago. Quite a good DVD but I would have preferred to see a little more of the actual engineering artistry of either Daniels or Smith - just my personal opinion.

Hi Don, it's good to hear from you. I hope things are well with you and your watch creations?

Thanks for posting the link. :-)
