Yes the problem of finding the software this is because he does not have a website he has the files in the file directory someplace so finding it becomes extremely challenging if not impossible. He should be here but is not? Try sending a private message to Frank @praezis It's his software he should bill a tell you worries currently hiding it. -

The spring should happily stay on the back of the day disc when removed. This has been floating around in a box for a while.
