I recently had exactly the same problem on an ETA 2773. Cousins don't stock the reversers any more, but I found another cleaning cycle made things much better. I had been using my own mix of lubricant - 9010/naphtha, but now I've switched to Lubetta I'm getting more consistent results

I think you have a typo - should be $500 not $1500 for a cal 10xx watch in good condition 🤣 If you look at @JohnR725's link to Julesborel, you can find which parts are common to other movements, then search on ebay. You can pick up parts or scrap movements for these 10xx series fairly cheaply - I did, I have a couple of 1012's
